BI 101 GENERAL BIOLOGY I w/LAB General Biology I is a course on the facts and principles of biology at the introductory level (no previous background in biology is assumed). The course has a mandatory lab that complements the lecture. This course is designed to meet the needs of non-STEM major programs including Nursing. Topics include biological principles common to all organisms. An indepth study of the cell is presented including the chemistry, structure and function of cell organelles, cellular respiration. photosynthesis, cell reproduction. Mendelian genetics, patterns or inheritance, protein synthesis, molecular genetics, and DNA technology. Competency at MA 090 is recommended. 4 Credits
