EC 201 PRINCIPLES OF MACROECONOMICS This course will address two major questions: (1) what are the causes of recessions, unemployment and inflation; and (2) what can governments do to combat business cycles and reduce unemployment? Topics covered include: fiscal policy, federal debt, monetary policy, and the Federal Reserve System. We will also look at the impact of international trade and the balance of payments. It is recommended that the student take this before EC 202 Principles of Microeconomics. Lecture: 3 hours per week. 3 Credits.
