Division of Humanities & Social Sciences
The English Concentration is an option for students who wish to pursue a liberal arts degree and who have academic and career aspirations requiring a strong background in writing/language arts. It includes analysis of the practice in producing academic, creative, professional, and digital/multi-modal writing. This concentration is appropriate for students considering careers in teaching, publishing, and writing; but also for a wide range of careers in the humanities, business, STEM, and health sciences.
Upon successful completion, the Associate in Arts Degree in Liberal Arts with a concentration in English is awarded.

Any History course at the College.
Laboratory Science Elective:
Science Elective:
Any 3 or 4 credit science course at the College.
Literature Sequence:
Any Literature course at the College.
Humanities Electives:
Art, Communications, Film, Foreign Language, Humanities, Literature, Music, Oral Communication, Philosophy, Photography, Sign Language, Theater Arts
Social Science Elective:
Anthropology, Economics, Geography, Government, History, Law and Society (LA 230 ), Psychology, Sociology
English Concentration Elective:
Program Elective:
Any college-level elective in the Humanities, Social Science, or Mathematics & Science areas, or Business, Business Communication, Criminal Justice, Computer Science, Contemporary Nutrition (NS 101 ), Education, Electrical Engineering, Essentials of Nutrition (HL 111 ), Human Services, Law, Management, Marketing, Mechanical Engineering.
Math Elective must be 1DO-level or higher and does not include courses with a MAC prefix.
