AY 221 HEATING, A/C, AND CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEMS This course will introduce the students to the design and principles of automotive heating and air-conditioning systems (HVAC). The study of components and operation will aid the student in gaining the knowledge to safely and effectively diagnose and service heating and air-conditioning systems. Emphasis is placed on environmental concerns, safe refrigerant handling, and recovery equipment use. Students will obtain Refrigerant Recovery/Recycling EPA Section 609 Certification. Lecture: 1 credit. Lab: 2 credits. Total: 75 hours. 3 Credits Prerequisites: AY 120
