AR 200 WATERCOLORS I This course is an upper level art course. The course will cover the fundamental techniques of transparent watercolor media, such as wet on wet, dry brush, glazing, and knowledge of painting tools. Emphasis will be on value, light and applied color theory, vocabulary development, form, texture, space, and perspective. Students will create still life paintings, city/landscapes, and figurative painting. The student will acquire critical skills to evaluate paintings. The student will participate in weekly class critiques. Students will purchase their own art supplies. Students may be asked to exhibit their artwork on campus.
3 Credits Prerequisites: AR100 (Art Fundamentals), AR101 (History and Appreciation of Art I), and AR121 (Drawing I)
