CO 100 INTRODUCTION TO COMMUNICATION



An introduction to the history and principles of human communication. The course will cover the development of communication from signals, to speech, to writing, and to the mass communication technologies of print, broadcast media, and computers. Contemporary models and theories of human communication will be emphasized. Finally, the course will consider the growing field of communication as both an academic discipline and a career focus. This will enable students to make informed choices about their future study and job options. Lecture: 3 hours per week. 3 Credits
