NU 181 CONCEPT ANALYSIS FOR LPN TO RN BRIDGE



This course assists the student to develop the pattern recognition and critical thinking skills required in the registered nurse role by reframing foundational knowledge acquired in practical nursing studi es into a conceptual approach to nursing care and practice. A variety of strategies will be used to assist students to make the transition to conceptual thinking including concept analysis, concept mapping, written assignments and case studies. Students will be asked to reorganize foundational knowledge into concepts and move on complete an in depth analysis of concepts representing unpredictable and complex healthcare needs. In addition, students will evaluate key professional concepts from the perspective of the registered nurses practice. 4 credits Prerequisites Bl 215, Bl 217, Bl 223, PS 101, EN 101.
