HU 203 STUDIES IN MODERNITY



An interdisciplinary humanities course that explores the condition of modernity and related themes in Western thought from the mid-19th century. We will draw from the fields of philosophy, literature, literary theory, social thought, and intellectual history. Topics will include understanding the concept of modernity, the significance of modernism in literature and the arts, and new concerns with subjectivity and truth.
