Fall/ Spring Semester start
This is a fully online asynchronous program designed to prepare learners in medical coding to work in either an inpatient or outpatient setting. This program offers training in inpatient and outpatient medical office administrative practice, pathophysiology and pharmacology for medical coders, as well as medical records management. The program teaches International Classification of Disease (ICD), Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) and Healthcare Common Procedural Coding Systems (HCPCS), as well as coding regulatory issues, medical-legal and ethical issues, computer usage, medical data entry, and insurance and billing practices. This course is just right for entry-level job candidates and for those wishing to build on a current skill base in order to make a career change.
Upon successful completion, the Certificate in Medical Coding is awarded.

Admission Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent.
