PM 210 EMERGENCY CARE CLINICAL I This clinical rotation provides a comprehensive emergency department experience that focuses on theory, assessment skills, invasive skills, and affective behaviors expected of a paramedic under the direction of preceptor or instructor. The companion lab is designated to cover advanced topics in clinical practice, EMS operations, strategies for success, case review, and standardized patient scenarios. A minimum of 140 hopsital clinical hours and 40 lab hours are required. 3 Credits. Lab: 5 hours per week (8-week session). Clinical: 17.5 hours per week (8-week session). Prerequisites: Anatomy & Physiology [BI 215, BI 217, BI 113, or equivalent], PM 201, PM 202, PM 203, PM 204, PM 205, PM 206, PM 207. Department consent required. A minimum of 90% must be achieved on all drug dosage calculations while in clinical. 3 Credits Prerequisites: PM 101, 102, 103, 104, 105, 110, 111, 112, 113, BI 113 Note: A combination of BI 215 and BI 217 may be taken in place of BI 113.
